Space Saving Solution

Our oldest grandson joined the Scouts last year and has been, and still is, earning badge after badge.

I used to keep them in a scrap book, but I was not very happy with that. They should be on display and I tried to come up with a good solution.

The first thing that crossed my mind was the obvious one: some sort of a wall display. There is already so much on the walls in his room though and it would look extremely cluttered. So, that idea was off the table.

Then it dawned on me. The folding closet doors would make an excellent display.

I cut and sewed fabric to the desired width and length and wove it through the slats of the doors.

I fastened it with thumb nails on the back of the doors, making it easily removable in case the need would arise.

With a few stitches the badges and his previous rank cap, neckerchief and slide, were quickly fastened on the fabric.

It occurred to me that this was actually an ideal solution to display all kinds of other stuff as well.

Drawings, pictures, and many other items would draw the so much deserved attention without taking up extra space. The closet doors are there anyway and only take up valuable, wasted space.

Well, not anymore!
